Farmer Toon privacy policy

Farmer Toon is an online game, so it needs some data to work. Here's what, why, and for how long.

Last updated: October 12, 2026

The short version

Farmer Toon uses your Steam identity and your game progress to run your farm online. If you buy Stars, a payment provider handles the payment and Techinox never sees your card details. No ads, no data sold, no tracking outside the game.

Who is responsible

The data controller is Techinox, the independent developer of Farmer Toon, based in France (see the legal notice). Contact: thetechinox@gmail.com

What other players can see

Other players can see your Steam display name or in-game name, your farm, your animals and their names, your market listings, battle results and rankings, and content you submit once it's approved.

Who receives your data

  • The hosting provider of the game servers, which stores data on Techinox's behalf.
  • The payment provider, if you buy Stars. It processes your payment details under its own privacy policy and sends Techinox only the confirmation and the order details listed above.
  • Valve (Steam), which handles your Steam account, achievements and any purchase made through Steam, under the Steam privacy policy.
  • Authorities, only if the law requires it.

Your data is never sold or used for advertising. If a provider processes data outside the European Union, the transfer is protected by the safeguards required by the GDPR, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Cookies

The game doesn't use cookies or advertising identifiers. The payment page may use cookies that are strictly necessary to process a payment securely. They're set by the payment provider.

Security

Access to the servers and databases is restricted and protected. No system is perfect, but if a breach ever puts your data at risk, Techinox will notify the CNIL and, where required, you.

Deleting your profile

You can ask for your Farmer Toon profile and its data to be deleted at any time by emailing thetechinox@gmail.com with your Steam name and a link to your Steam profile. Purchase records that must be kept for accounting are kept separately until the legal period ends.

Children

Farmer Toon isn't aimed at children. Players under 15 need a parent's permission to play and to make purchases. If you think a child has given data without permission, contact Techinox and it will be deleted.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can, at any time:

  • ask for a copy of the data held about you (access);
  • have inaccurate data corrected (rectification);
  • have your data deleted (erasure);
  • ask for processing to be limited or object to it (restriction, objection);
  • receive the data you provided in a reusable format (portability);
  • withdraw consent you gave, without affecting what was done before.

Email thetechinox@gmail.com to use any of these rights. You'll get an answer within one month. If you think your rights aren't respected, you can complain to the French data protection authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr, 3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, France) or to the authority in your own EU country.
